After our successful first year of Kids can Code classes we are happy to announce that we will offer again the regular Kids can Code classes during the school year 2018-2019. 

During the regular Kids can Code classes, we have the following activities for the students.

The students finished the anomated stories they created togther and showed them to their parents.

Certificates of recognition were given.

 

Recycle and Donate

Your donated electronic/computer device will be used to teach children about electronics during the Kids can Code Programming and Electronics classes.

New batches started August 2017

Kids can Code offers a FREE Tryout Session for 10 Children in the age 6 to 12 years old to learn how to create their own programs using Scratch.

As technology dominates our lives, learning basic computer programming isn't just a smart idea, it's an essential skill for grown-ups and children alike. Learning how to build simple animation, interactive stories and games helps kids refine their design, logic and problem-solving abilities. It also allows them to express ideas and creativity in unique ways!

New batches of creators of animations, interactive stories and games have started. After a one month introduction, the students have the option to learn more about computer programming and connection electronic components to the computer to let their applications interact with the real world.

New classes have started this July 2017 with in introduction into the world of computer programming.

 

Now that we know the steps of learning and the tools to reinforce learning, we can also have a look at the ways we can learn and how much we learn from the different learning activities. (note: the exact numbers and e.g. the order of listening and reading are still a point of many debates but the pyramid below gives a good indication which ways of learning are more effective.)

In the previous post we learned about the steps of learning and the skills needed. In this post we will have a look at the tools to use in each step.

Are your children using computers and the Internet most of the time in a passive way? Like watching videos, playing games, listening to music and consuming other entertainment using their computer, laptop or tablet.

It’s just normal. It’s an easy way for children to show this behavior when they don’t know the tools and don’t have the skills to create things themselves.

To be able to change the behavior of children from passive consumers to active creators we need to understand more about learning before we can come up with solutions.
